Stockholm » Bergius Botanic Garden
The Bergius Botanic Garden is situated in a scenic area by the lake Brunnsviken just north of Stockholm. The garden features two conservatories and a botanical park with trees and shrub species from different parts of the world, as well as large lawn areas of herbaceous plants. Also take your time to visit the extensive kitchen garden area, herb garden, plant geographical areas, Japanese pond and the orchard. In the systematic beds it is possible to see how different plants are related and understand the diversity of plants. The Edvard Anderson conservatory has plants in flower throughout the year. Walk from the scented flowers of the Mediterranean through South Africa, Southwest Australia to Californian desert and humid rainforest. In the tropical rooms of the greenhouse you will find many utility plants such as bananas, citrus, coffee, tea and cocoa. The Victoria house was built in 1900, especially for the giant water lily Victoria. In the greenhouse this world largest water lily is still grown among other tropical plants.
